Katha Upanishad 1.2.4

Wide apart and leading to different points are these two, ignorance, and what is known as wisdom. I believe Nakiketas to be one who desires knowledge, for even many pleasures did not tear thee away.

In plain words: Not knowing the truth and real wisdom are two very different roads that lead to different places. Death sees that Nachiketas truly wants wisdom, because all those pleasures could not pull him away.
