antavat tu phalaṁ teṣhāṁ tad bhavatyalpa-medhasām
devān deva-yajo yānti mad-bhaktā yānti mām api
Finite indeed the fruit that belongeth to those who are of small intelligence. To the Shining Ones go the worshippers of the Shining Ones, but my devotees come unto Me.
In plain words: Krishna says the rewards people get from worshipping lesser gods for their wishes do not last. Those who worship the gods go to the gods, but those devoted to Krishna come to him.
