The Yogî is greater than the ascetics; he is thought to be greater than even the wise; the Yogî is greater than the men of action; therefore become thou a Yogî, O Arjuna!
In plain words: Krishna says the yogi is greater than people who only punish their bodies, greater than the merely learned, and greater than people who only do rituals and duties. So he tells Arjuna to become a yogi.
