Bhagavad Gita 18.53

Krishna speaking to Arjuna

अहङ्कारं बलं दर्पं कामं क्रोधं परिग्रहम्। विमुच्य निर्ममः शान्तो ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते ॥

ahankāraṁ balaṁ darpaṁ kāmaṁ krodhaṁ parigraham vimuchya nirmamaḥ śhānto brahma-bhūyāya kalpate

Having cast aside egoism, violence, arrogance, desire, wrath, covetousness, selfless and peaceful—he is fit to become the Eternal.

In plain words: Krishna says that when a person drops ego, violence, arrogance, desire, anger and greed, and becomes unselfish and peaceful, they are ready to become one with the Eternal.
