Yoga Sutras 2.14
Patanjali, explained by Swami Vivekananda
ते ह्लादपरितापफलाः पुण्यापुण्यहेतुत्वात् ॥
te hlādaparitāpaphalāḥ puṇyāpuṇyahetutvāt
They bear fruit as pleasure or pain, caused by virtue or vice.
In plain words: These results come as pleasure when they grow from good actions, and as pain when they grow from bad actions.
