Vamana's three steps

   3.1.1In a later age, Vishnu was born as Vaikuntha to Vikunthi. In the present age he was born as Vamana, the dwarf son of Kashyapa and Aditi. With three giant steps he won back the worlds and gave them to Indra (Purandara). In each age a form of Vishnu protects all beings.
2. 3.1.2He is called Vishnu because his power fills and enters the whole world; the name comes from a root meaning "to enter." All the gods, the Manus (first rulers of each age), and the kings of gods are just forms of Vishnu's power.
