O Rudra! hurt us not in our offspring and descendants, hurt us not in our own lives, nor in our cows, nor in our horses! Do not slay our men in thy wrath, for, holding oblations, we call on thee always.
In plain words: The worshippers pray to Rudra, who could be fierce, not to harm their children, grandchildren, their own lives, their cows or their horses. They ask him not to kill their men in anger, since they always call on him with offerings.
