Prashna Upanishad 1.8

(They knew) him who assumes all forms, the golden, who knows all things, who ascends highest, alone in his splendour, and warms us; the thousand-rayed, who abides in a hundred places, the spirit of all creatures, the Sun, rises.

In plain words: The verse praises the golden sun that takes all forms and knows all things. It rises highest, shines alone, and warms us. With a thousand rays it is present everywhere and is the life of every creature.
