Chandogya Upanishad 5.2.6

Then going forward and placing the mash in his hands, he recites: 'Thou (Prâna) art Ama by name, for all this together exists in thee. He is the oldest and best, the king, the sovereign. May he make me the oldest, the best, the king, the sovereign. May I be all this.'

In plain words: Holding the herb-and-honey mash in his hands, the person doing the rite speaks to Prana, the life-breath. He calls it Ama, because everything lives within it, and praises it as the oldest, best and ruling power. He asks to become great like it.
