Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.3.24

And thus Brahmadatta Kaikitaneya (the grandson of Kikitana), while taking Soma (ragan), said: 'May this Soma strike my head off, if Ayasya Angirasa sang another Udgitha than this. He sang it indeed as speech and breath.'

In plain words: Brahmadatta, grandson of Kikitana, swore an oath while drinking Soma, the sacred ritual drink. He said the sage Ayasya Angirasa sang the chant using nothing but speech and breath, and he would lose his head if this were not true.
