These must never be slain, viz., Brahmanas, kine, relatives, children, women, those whose food is eaten, and those also that yield by asking for protection. O king, without wealth no good quality can show itself in a person. If, however, thou art in health, thou canst achieve thy good, for he is dead who is unhealthy and ill.
In plain words: Vidura lists those who must never be killed: priests (Brahmanas), cows, relatives, children, women, those whose food you have eaten, and those who ask for protection. He adds that without wealth a person's good qualities cannot show, but if you are healthy you can still achieve your good, because being sick is like being dead.
