Vidura Niti 3.22

Vidura speaking to King Dhritarashtra

The first four which are inseparably connected with the good, are sacrifice, gift, study and asceticism, while the other four that are always followed by the good, are self-restraint, truth, simplicity, and abstention from injury to all.

In plain words: Good people are always linked with four practices: worship, giving, study, and spiritual discipline. They always follow four more: self-control, truth, simplicity, and not harming any living being.
