ये चैव सात्त्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये।
मत्त एवेति तान्विद्धि नत्वहं तेषु ते मयि ॥
ye chaiva sāttvikā bhāvā rājasās tāmasāśh cha ye
matta eveti tān viddhi na tvahaṁ teṣhu te mayi
The natures that are harmonious, active, slothful, these know as from Me; not I in them, but they in me.
In plain words: Krishna says the three moods of nature—calm goodness, restless activity, and dull laziness—all come from him. They exist within him, but he is not controlled by them.
