इन्द्रियाणां हि चरतां यन्मनोऽनुविधीयते।

indriyāṇāṁ hi charatāṁ yan mano ’nuvidhīyate
tadasya harati prajñāṁ vāyur nāvam ivāmbhasi
Such of the roving senses as the mind yieldeth to, that hurries away the understanding, just as the gale hurries away a ship upon the waters.
In plain words: If the mind follows the wandering senses, it drags away a person's good sense. It is like strong wind pushing a ship off course on the sea.
