Bhagavad Gita 2.46

Krishna speaking to Arjuna

यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः संप्लुतोदके। तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः ॥

yāvān artha udapāne sarvataḥ samplutodake tāvānsarveṣhu vedeṣhu brāhmaṇasya vijānataḥ

All the Vedas are as useful to an enlightened Brâhmana as is a tank in a place covered all over with water.

In plain words: Krishna says that for a wise person who knows the truth, the scriptures are like a small water tank in a place already flooded with water. They already have what the texts point to.
