Bhagavad Gita 17.25

Krishna speaking to Arjuna

तदित्यनभिसन्धाय फलं यज्ञतपःक्रियाः। दानक्रियाश्च विविधाः क्रियन्ते मोक्षकाङ्क्षि ॥

tad ity anabhisandhāya phalaṁ yajña-tapaḥ-kriyāḥ dāna-kriyāśh cha vividhāḥ kriyante mokṣha-kāṅkṣhibhiḥ

With the pronunciation of " Tat " and without aiming at fruit are performed the various acts of sacrifice, austerity and gift, by those desiring liberation.

In plain words: People who want to be free from the cycle of rebirth say "Tat," meaning "That," a word for God. Then they do their worship, discipline and giving without wanting any reward.
